Competition is relay style with three separate individuals.

Description: Swim 500 meters in the Chequamegon Bay in the
Greatest of the Great Lakes… Lake Superior (wetsuits welcome).
Bicycle 15 miles out and back from Bay View Park through Ashland proper (see course map) and back to the park.
Run 3.1 miles along the waterfront trail to the beautiful oredock and back to the park.
Racers
receive a finishers medal, a duffle gym bag with cool compartments
and swimming cap.
Awards given to top 3 overall in both men & women categories.
Age
Class awards to the top 2 in ages from 15 to 85 in 5 year increments.

Amenities: Racers receive a a very cool duffle gym bag with cool compartments and a swim cap, finish line food—donut holes, fruit, Powerade, and water.
Registration & Packet Pick up Friday, July 16 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Saturday, July 17 9am-8pm and Sunday 6:30am-7:30am at the Ashland
Chamber of Commerce Tent at the Festival Grounds, Bayview Park. Bike Check-In: Athletes will check bikes into transition on Sunday, July 18th between the hours of 6:00am—6:45am. Chip Timing: Competitors will pick up chips at the transition area on Sunday, July 18th. Parking: Parking is available free of charge across the street from Bayview park in the designated parking lot areas. Race Numbers: Your packet will contain one bib number. Everyone must wear swim caps issued at swim check-in NO EXCEPTIONS. Helmet stickers provided. Body marking is permitted. The Course: Please review the race routes prior to the race. it is your responsibility to know the course and to conduct yourself safely. PLEASE NOTE: that the bike and run courses are not closed to traffic. Be aware of your surroundings and proceed with caution at all driveways, intersections, and turns. Watch out for uneven pavement and other road hazards. Each person is individually responsible for completing the course. No assistance allowed. If you do not complete the swim, bike or run courses, you must notify a race official or race director as soon as possible. The Race director may alter the course due to conditions or safety concerns. (Due to construction the course map will be changing. Updated maps are now available.) Swim: The 500 meter (5k, 547 yard) swim takes place in the Chequamegon Bay at Bayview Beach. No fins, paddles or flotation devices are allowed. Wetsuits are permitted and recommended. If you need assistance during the swim, raise an arm overhead and call or seek assistance. The swim course will be properly monitored with lifeguards, kayaks, 1 motor boat and support personnel. Race officials reserve the right to pull any swimmer from the water that they feel is jeopardizing their safety or the safety of others. The water temperature will be posted at the start. For accountability and timing purposes your swim cap MUST be worn!!
Bike:
Bicycle Portion of the Triathlon Transition: No bikes will be allowed out of the transition area after 9:30am ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS. Run: The run is a 3.1mile out and back course that runs along beautiful Chequamegon Bay. Water Stations: Water & Powerade will be available at or around the 5 mile, 10 mile and the finishline. General: All race officials and volunteers will wear orange vests identifying them. Please follow the instructions of all race officials. these people are there for your safety. The race directors reserve the right to change or cancel the race if required by adverse conditions. The post-race party and awards presentation will be located at the at the festival area. Please remove your belongings from the transition area as soon as possible as security will be lifted from the transition area approximately 30 minutes after the last finisher.
